Just a little walk in Solomon's Portico

Bless you all in Jesus name. Past one week, day and night I have meditated on John 10, wondering what this verse could mean. Let's look at it

"At that time FEAST OF DEDICATION took place at Jerusalem. It was WINTER, and JESUS was walking in the temple, in the COLONNADE OF SOLOMON" John 10:22,23

So Jesus is taking a little walk in Solomon's portico or porch .. and it's winter time ....the feast of dedication is going on ... The scripture might be layered with meanings .. but it's so SIMPLE ...and PLAIN that it might be difficult to digest 😁

Feast of dedication also called Hanukkah ( Festival of Lights ) has a great history. In 175 BCE the spirit of anti christ went full swing with the king of Selucid empire called ANTIOCHUS... he changed his title to THEOS EPIPHANES which means "God Manifest". Disclaimer: even today all that takes the place of God is the spirit of Anti Christ.

Antiochus .. possessed by the spirit of Anti Christ targeted the most revered place .. the holy temple. It will be strange to find out the ways he managed to get in there .. he targeted the priest hood and appointed a man loyal to the selucids named Joshua.

He then looked for greedy men like Menelaus, and Menelaus literally bought the position of high priest in the temple , by giving a certain sum to Antiochus ..

Need I say in plain words.. Gods holy home was defiled .. pigs were slaughtered on the alter .. statue of Zeus established in the temple .... everything that God has ordained .. the spirit of Antichrist turned it upside down ..

And here we have Jesus walking in the same temple on the FEAST of DEDICATION.. the temple was rebuilt by Herod and rededicated to God .. that's why it was was called the Festival of Lights . .. but clearly as we studied in the last post. .. there was nothing but clear darkness in the Hebrew land.

We saw few posts back .. the temple priests receive a sermon by a beggar preacher ... 🤷‍♀️the ones getting touched by Christ were receiving light .., but others were sunk into great thick darkness.

And I say it again .,.here we have Jesus .. taking a walk in Solomon's colonnade on feast of dedication. Daniel 8 clearly shows the fathers heart which is ripped to see the abominations of man in his holy temple .. and in response God decided to send the ultimate solution ...

On the feast of Hanukkah (light ) or as we know it ... feast of dedication .. the spirit of God .. in whose presence there is holiness .. all defilement is swept away .. walked in the temple .. Jesus's presence on this very day in the temple portico is a sign of re dedication of all that was defiled ...

He not only rededicated it with his holy presence , but set a benchmark for his disciples .. who started the wave of first century church on this same Solomon portico (Peter miraculous healing -gold and silver I do not have 🙂remember )

The place where pigs (symbol of impurity) were slaughtered .. to rebel against the father ... the very LAMB of GOD walked .. the spotless one ... the holy one .. Jesus not only fulfilled the fathers plan on earth .. he reclaimed everything that the spirit of Anti Christ or Satan had tried to snatch from the fathers hand.

Look at the next verses in John 10 " my sheep hear my voice, I give them eternal life and they will never perish.. MY FATHER who had given them to me, IS GREATER than ALL..and NO ONE is able to snatch them out of my FATHERS hand ....hallelujah

What an incredible son Jesus was .. the Selucid king Antiochus .. made the Jews eat defiled food .. and worship idols through the laws he passed ... for a while he snatched the sheep from the flock .. but here comes the GOOD SHEPHERD .. oh I'm so excited even as I write this.

Jesus came and declared on the same ground .. the same piece of land .. a mighty message of eternal restoration ... he put a full stop after saying " NO ONE CAN SNATCH YOU FROM MY FATHERS HANDS"

Here's the message for us .. when Jesus preached this message in Solomon's Colonnade .. it was still WINTER .. things still seemed gloomy .. the people he was dieing for were still blind ... but he never walked by sight but by faith.

Dear reader , the spirit of anti Christ is more at work NOW than it was THEN .., the last few rounds of this age .. and we meet our king face to face.

I want to encourage you today... you might be just taking a little walk by the streets..or just a regular train journey..but you can be destroying the powers of darkness by the very insignificant things you do every day ..

Our sweet Jesus was simply walking in Solomon's portico 🙂 but his little walk has given me light and freedom today ... I can celebrate Hanukkah .. knowing I have received the light of heaven the day I received Christ ....nothing is insignificant as you live a kingdom driven life ... I pray you see purpose in the every day things you do... just few more chapters left on planet earth 🌏 get ready.. live a purpose driven life just the way Jesus did ..
